CE Requirements for
Alaska Board of Psychologist and Psychological Associate Examiners
Required topic per 12 AAC 60.260(b): at least 3 contact hours in professional ethics every biennial renewal. At least 20 contact hours must be earned through live interactive programs (in-person or real-time Internet) — pre-recorded or self-study formats do not count toward the live-interactive minimum (12 AAC 60.260(c)-(d)). Approved sponsoring organizations include the American Psychological Association (APA), American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, National Association of Social Workers, American Nurses Association, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, National Association of School Psychologists, and ABA-approved programs (12 AAC 60.300). Academic continuing education must be at the graduate level for licensing periods beginning on or after July 1, 2007 (12 AAC 60.280(e)). A licensee may earn 1 continuing education credit per 2 hours attended at a regularly scheduled board meeting, capped at 2 continuing education credits per licensing period (12 AAC 60.300(d)). First-time publication or presentation earns 20 contact hours per qualifying work (12 AAC 60.330).
