CE Requirements for
Arkansas State Medical Board
Half of the 20 annual CME hours must be Category 1 and in the physician's designated primary area of practice.
First-time licensed prescribers only; one-time requirement completed within the first 2 years of licensure. Covers Board regulations and laws, record keeping, and professional boundaries.
Random monthly audits; selected physicians must submit certificates of completion. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from ACCME-accredited providers is the dominant source. Extensions may be granted for illness, military service, medical or religious missionary activity, foreign-country residence, or other extenuating circumstances upon written application. Documentation must be retained for at least three years from the end of the reporting period. The CME reporting period runs from the physician's prior birth month through the current birth month.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Arkansas Medical Doctor renewal requirements.
