CE Requirements for

First-renewal exemption: occupational therapists receiving a new license are exempt from CE for the first partial year of licensure. Acceptable activities (per § 140-404): workshops, conferences (hour-for-hour); academic coursework (five to ten credits depending on semester hours); fieldwork supervision (two to six credits); publications and authorship (one to ten credits depending on peer-review status); volunteer service (one credit per five hours, max two credits); mentoring (max two credits per direction); self-study and book reviews (one credit per review, two-credit annual maximum). Documentation must be retained for three years; acceptable proof includes official transcripts, signed verification letters from program directors, or supervisor letters detailing attendance. License renewal occurs annually on or before the last day of the birth month; failure to renew by that day results in automatic expiration.
