CE Requirements for
Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy
Online learning is capped at fifty percent of the biennial requirement (ten clock hours for PT); live interactive webinars count as in-person. The jurisprudence exam itself counts toward the online allowance. License paperwork is renewed annually by March 1; CE is only required for odd-numbered-year renewals. A published article or research item from within the two-year cycle may be submitted for up to half of the biennial CEU requirement on individual Board review. Direct supervision of a PT or PTA student from a CAPTE-accredited program (or supervised mentoring within an accredited residency/fellowship) earns one contact hour per 40 hours, capped at 5 PT hours per biennium. The Board randomly audits 10% of licensees after each odd-year renewal with a 20-day documentation window; records must be retained for at least four years. Failure to complete CE by December 31 of the year prior to renewal incurs a $50 per month penalty until completion; failure to comply by the March 1 deadline blocks license renewal.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Arkansas Physical Therapist renewal requirements.
