CE Requirements for
Arkansas State Medical Board
PAs authorized to prescribe Schedule II hydrocodone only; these hours must be in pain management content and are counted within the standard 20-hour annual total.
First-time licensed prescribers only; one-time requirement completed within the first 2 years of licensure. Covers Board regulations and laws, record keeping, and professional boundaries.
Random monthly audits; selected PAs must submit certificates of completion. The rule explicitly notes CME does not require a particular category (no equivalent to the MD/DO 50% Category 1 rule). Documentation must be retained for at least three years from the end of the reporting period; the CME reporting period runs from prior birth month through current birth month. Extensions may be granted for illness, military service, missionary work, foreign-country residence, or other extenuating circumstances upon written application.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Arkansas Physician Assistant renewal requirements.
