CE Requirements for
Arkansas State Medical Board
Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) courses are capped at 3 CEUs per renewal year regardless of how many RQI cards are submitted; only ACLS RQI, PALS RQI, and NRP RQI count (BLS RQI does not). NBRC credentialing or recredentialing examinations (RRT, ACCS, CRT-SDS, RRT-SDS, NPS, CPFT, RPFT, RPSGT, CPSGT, C-NPT) each earn six CEUs; initial or re-certification of ACLS, NALS, PALS, NAECB, NRP, or STABLE each earn six CEUs. NRP, PALS, and ACLS instructor courses each earn nine CEUs. Peer-reviewed journal articles earn one CEU each (limit two per renewal); vendor demonstrations are capped at one CEU per renewal. Unacceptable for CE: in-service for general employer responsibilities, CPR/BLS/PEARS, JCAHO review, OSHA, infection control, MSDS, fire safety, restraint, computer literacy, time management, wellness programs. Documentation must be retained for three years; excess credits do not carry over to the next renewal period.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Arkansas Respiratory Care Practitioner renewal requirements.
