CE Requirements for
State Physical Therapy Board
Continuing Professional Competency via CPD program: complete Self-Assessment Tool (SAT), draft Learning Plan, accrue twenty PDA hours per 2-year renewal cycle. Minimum fifteen of the twenty must be in the Educational Coursework, Fellowships, or Residencies category; the remainder may come from the Other PDA list (Formalized Assessments; Presentations, Research, and Publications; Mentoring or Supervision; Independent or Group Study or In-Service; Volunteer Service). The Board does not pre-approve courses or providers — certificate holders select activities aligned to their Learning Plan. CPC begins after the first certification renewal; initial certificate holders are exempt for their first cycle. Retain documentation for two complete renewal periods. Deemed Status available (Colorado Department of Education currently approved). Military active duty exemption available. Rule: 4 CCR 732-1 § 1.6.G.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Colorado Physical Therapist Assistant renewal requirements.
