CE Requirements for
Connecticut Department of Public Health
Required during the first applicable renewal period (registration periods ending after January 1, 2016), then not less than once every six years thereafter.
Home study programs (including distance learning and Internet-based) qualify. Activities that do not qualify include professional business meetings, banquet speeches, independent reading of books or journals, stand-alone correspondence courses, and stand-alone audio-visual materials (the latter two count only when packaged within a qualifying activity). Certificate of completion required from the provider; retain at least three years following the renewal date. First-time renewal applicants are exempt from CE until their next registration period. Waiver available for non-practicing licensees on notarized application, or for medical disability or illness on annual request.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor renewal requirements.
