CE Requirements for
Connecticut Department of Public Health
Required during the first applicable renewal period, then not less than once every six years thereafter.
No more than five continuing education units per registration period may be completed via the Internet, distance learning, or home study. No more than five continuing education units per registration period may come from research-based presentations at professional conferences. A licensee earning an ABPP diploma during the registration period may substitute that diploma for the cycle CE requirement. A continuing education unit is fifty to sixty minutes of accredited continuing professional education. Certificate of completion required; retain at least three years following the renewal date. First-time renewal applicants are exempt from CE for that first registration period. Medical waiver requires physician certification; non-practice waiver requires a notarized application prior to registration-period expiration. Reinstatement after lapse of one year or more requires ten contact hours completed within the year immediately preceding application.
