CE Requirements for
Florida Board of Nursing
Must be approved by AMA, ANCC, AANA, or AANP.
Required every other renewal cycle.
Required every third biennium. In addition to the 24 required hours — not counted toward them.
One-time requirement prior to first renewal only.
Autonomous APRNs must complete 10 additional graduate-level NP-level CE hours per Rule 64B9-4.020(4). Licensees who hold current national specialty certification are exempt from general CE hours — except Controlled Substances Prescribing and Human Trafficking requirements remain mandatory. Pro-rated for short initial biennium: 1 hour CE per month licensed. STUB: additive_to_total for Recognition of Impairment cannot be determined from condition text — board verification required.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse renewal requirements.
