CE Requirements for
Florida Board of Dentistry
Due every third biennium

Required for all dentists who hold an active sedation permit of any level; must contain a component on airway management and be created by a board-approved provider
Total CE requirement is 30 hours per biennium. Domestic Violence (2 hrs) is due every third biennium. CPR must be a live course. Management of Medical Emergencies (4 hrs) is only required for dentists with active sedation permits. Reactivation requires 30 hours per biennium the license was inactive plus current CPR. Alternative CE credits available for pro bono services, expert witness participation, board meeting attendance, adjunct faculty, anesthesia inspection consulting, and dental clinical/hygiene exercises. Military, volunteer health services, and public school health volunteer exemptions may apply. Background screening/fingerprint retention required at renewal. Delinquent licenses that expired February 28, 2026 become null and void March 1, 2028.
