Florida Board of Medicine
Required every third biennial cycle; can be included in the 38 general hours
Required of all physicians registered with DEA
Required prior to first renewal only; board-approved course
Total of 40 CME hours required per biennial cycle. The 38 general hours can include the Domestic Violence course when it is due. CME hours do not carry over across biennial cycles. First renewal only requires HIV/AIDS, Prevention of Medical Errors, and Prescribing Controlled Substances (for DEA-registered doctors). Background screening and fingerprint retention required for renewal. NICA compliance also required.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Florida Medical Doctors – Area Critical Need renewal requirements.
