CE Requirements for
Florida Board of Medicine
Must be from a Board-approved Medical Errors provider.
Required every third biennium. Counted toward the 100 general hours — not in addition to them.
One-time requirement prior to first renewal only.
Required for prescribing physician assistants per specialty area of supervising physician. Counted toward the 100 general hours — not in addition to them.
Required for prescribing physician assistants. Counted toward the 10 specialty area hours. Must be from a statewide physician association accredited for AMA Category I or AAPA Category I.
Minimum 50 of 100 total hours must be AMA Category I CME; remaining 50 may be Category II.
A current NCCPA certificate satisfies the 100 general CME hours — mandatory topic courses must still be completed separately. Volunteer Health Services exemption may waive the renewal fee and up to 25% of CE hours, but mandatory topics cannot be waived.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Florida Physician Assistants Temporary renewal requirements.
