CE Requirements for
Florida Board of Nursing
Not waived by national certification exemption.
Does not require Florida Board of Nursing approval but must meet statutory criteria. Not waived by national certification exemption.
Required every other renewal cycle. Counted toward the 15 general hours — not in addition to them.
Required every third biennium. In addition to the 24 required hours — not counted toward them.
One-time requirement prior to first renewal only.
10 of these hours must be NP-level courses from a nationally recognized nursing certification body.
Licensees holding national specialty certification may use that certification to satisfy general CE — controlled substances and human trafficking courses are still required regardless.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Florida Registered Nurse Practitioner renewal requirements.
