CE Requirements for
Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists
Hours accrued in the field of professional marriage and family therapy ethics per 201 KAR 32:060.
Required at least one time every six years beginning January 1, 2015; counts toward the fifteen-hour annual total.
Required within three years after initial licensure or certification; covers dynamics, effects, legal remedies, lethality assessment, protocols, and community resources; counts toward the fifteen-hour annual total; not repeated thereafter.
All continuing education must be in the practice of marriage and family therapy, addressing psychotherapeutic and systems theories and techniques in the delivery of services to individuals, couples, and families. LMFT Associates complete ten hours per renewal period instead of fifteen, with the same three-hour ethics minimum. Online study courses are permitted; non-AAMFT and non-academic providers require board review and approval. Supervisor continuing education is governed by 201 KAR 32:035 Section 2(4)-(5) and applies only to board-approved MFT supervisors.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Kentucky Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist renewal requirements.
