CE Requirements for
Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists
Required once during licensure per M.G.L. c. 112 § 264; credit counts toward the total for the cycle in which the training is taken.
Licenses expire June 30 of every even-numbered year on a biennial cycle. Per 251 CMR 4.02, a continuing education hour is sixty consecutive minutes (one of the few MA boards using sixty rather than fifty minutes per credit). Per 251 CMR 4.03(3), up to half of the required total may be substituted by first or second authorship of a book, chapter, or refereed journal article relevant to the science or practice of psychology. Renewal is by signed, notarized attestation; the Board conducts random audits and may request verification for up to two prior renewal periods. Licensees must acknowledge renewal-time obligations to report suspected child abuse or neglect under M.G.L. c. 119 § 51A, abuse of elderly persons under c. 19A §§ 14 through 26, and abuse of disabled persons under c. 19C.
CE courses from providers approved by these accreditors count toward your Massachusetts Licensed Psychologist renewal requirements.
